Why should Believers study and obey the Torah of Yahovah?

The Torah Does Not Apply to Christians Because Our Pastors Told Us So

There are, I feel, a number of important reasons why Believers of Messiah should study and obey the Torah.

Traditionalists and fundamentalists assert that the Torah was nailed to the cross of Jesus and thus the tenets of the Torah are henceforth and forever more canceled. Nevertheless, the true believer of Messiah knows that this pompous manmade belief and doctrinal statement could not be further from the truth. If every self-professing follower of Yahshua was to study and obey the Torah and embrace the Hebraic roots of the Faith that our Savior taught (notice I did not say Judaic roots), it would be a sure bet that the 38,000 denominations that provide a home to the 2.5 billion believers of Jesus would quickly vanish. Denominationalism simply cannot stand up to the One True Faith of Yahshua. Why? Because this true Faith is pure and is consistent with the will and commandments of Yahovah, our creator. There is then no room for manmade doctrines and traditions. The purity of Yahovah’s way for man to live is simple and is not biased: one law applies to everyone without partiality. The secularized Christianity of the 21st century, built upon maintaining a profitable bottom line, will never kowtow to the true teachings of Yahshua simply because it will expose the truth behind these Nicolaitan-based organizations made of gold and silver.

The truth of that well-known proof-positive Pauline verse that billions of believers happily herald as the reason not to obey the Torah has been known to but just a precious few. It is as follows:

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; (Col 2:14 KJV)

However, centuries of deception surrounding the truth of this passage continues to be hidden from the masses and despite the clarity that is now understood about what Paul was saying in this verse, the Nicolaitans remain ever so resolute in their affirmation that the Torah has no place in Christianity. Again, the reasons for turning aside the Torah comes down to the desire by Christian leaders in maintaining the Nicolaitan structure of the faith. The only thing of importance to these hustlers of a badly played spin-off of the original Faith brought to the first century Saints is the corporation and entity known as the church. Not only does this entity provide handily for the exorbitant lifestyles of many of the leaders of corporate churchianity, it provides the enemy a means by which to enslave otherwise well-intentioned, truth seeking adherents in a pagan-based system that will ultimately lead millions down a road of destruction as mentioned by the Master:

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (Mat 7:13-15 KJV)

The Truth that Every Believer of Messiah Must Understand

Indeed, the Torah was NOT nailed to the cross with Jesus. What was nailed to the cross was the bill or damages incurred by every member (i.e., the handwriting of ordinances that was against us) for continued violations of Yahovah’s Torah. Clearly, the costs that are meted out to every person on the planet for continued violation of the Father’s commandments is eternal death. As a temporary fix for this dilemma, the Father instituted a priesthood and a series of sacrifices by which every member of Israel would have a means to atone for his and her failures to live according to the Father’s established way of life. The problems with animal sacrifices serving as atonement for our sins is that every time a member of the community violates a law, he or she must re-enter the sacrificial system for atonement. Secondarily, animal sacrifices could not pay the entry fee for eternal life.

Dear friends, brothers and sisters of the Most High, for the billionth time: Yahshua did NOT come to introduce a new religion to the world–the Christian Religion. Indeed, he vehemently proclaimed such:

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. (Mat 5:17 KJV)

From the very mouth of the Master comes the simple truth of the matter that the Law remains, but Yahshua has come to show us how to live Torah correctly. With this simple revelation, one should rationalize that denominationalism would have to vanish. But man remains steadfast in his determination to teach and support a greasy grace doctrine in place of Torah living. Why? Simply because, it is so much easier to encourage one’s parishioners to try to live a good life and assure them that God knows their hearts. No worries. This comes into stark contrast of admonishing one’s parishioners to keep the Sabbath and the Feast Days of Yahovah. We humans hate to be told what to do and the hijacked doctrine of grace fits ever so handily in place of keeping the Torah doesn’t it? Don’t eat shell fish or pork sounds so trite. But, eat whatever is put before you because the Father knows everyone’s heart, sounds ever so pleasant to the soul.

Heed the Warning All Who Would Teach Against Torah Keeping

Babies and children: won’t we ever grow up? How many different ways does the Spirit have to tell us that God’s way of living is via Torah keeping and those who teach otherwise will likely not find a place in the coming Kingdom of Yahovah:

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (Mat 5:18-19 KJV)

What a horrible legacy to enter into eternity with–that is the teaching of the false doctrine that the Torah was done away when the Master of our Salvation has clearly stated otherwise.

What a tremendously beautiful legacy to enter into eternity with–that is teaching and obeying Torah and being known in the coming Kingdom as one in the same!

I’ll say it here without the least hesitation or reservation: obedience and works are an essential element to one’s salvation and anyone who tells you otherwise is a Nicolaitan and a liar and is leading you down the broad path of destruction. It is time to stop playing church Saints in Training. There are no free lunches to be had by the Saints. Yahshua states:

20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. (Mat 5:20 KJV)

Traditionalists will say with unabashed authority that grace covers every requirement for righteousness at every conceivable level and thus the Savior’s rhetoric here is simply–rhetoric. But having a love for the Word will always clearly provide the truth to anyone searching for Truth. Indeed, the Scribes and Pharisees were perceived as righteous through their skilled and meticulous keeping of the Talmud, the manmade spin-off of the Torah. Their conduct in daily Jewish life was seen as almost superhuman by many and the Pharisees made it clear that they were indeed special because of their meticulous keeping of the manmade tradition. Their keeping of the spin-off of the Torah was lifeless and uninspired. It was purely mechanical and lacked the fullness that Yahshua sought to bring to the Law of Yahovah through His teachings and perfect keeping of the Torah. Thus, Yahshua would forever be in conflict with the Pharisaic system because He stood only for the Law of Yahovah.

One of the most mistranslated passages of the New Covenant wrongly conveys that Yahshua directed His followers to follow the example of the Scribes and Pharisees because they sit in the seat of Moses (Matt. 27:19). The Hebrew translation corrects the misleading nature of this passage by Yahshua instructing His followers to follow only those who teach Torah, but those who teach Talmud or the oral tradition, by all means do not obey their teachings and examples.

Call to Action

Christianity is in crisis. More and more self-professing Christians are fed up with the Nicolaitan organization known as the Church and yes they are leaving in droves. Some are leaving the christian faith altogether, disappointed that the christian church as an organization provides them with no significant value in their individual lives. Others are leaving the traditional church in search of a true faith that was once delivered to the first century Saints. These lucky ones are finding their lives completely changed forever and realizing that true Christianity, the way Yahshua intended it to be, is built upon love, obedience to His laws, living righteous lives, forsaking secularism, abandoning pagan-based christian celebrations such as christmas and easter, growing in the knowledge of Yahshua Ha Maschiach each and everyday, simply being disciples of the Savior.

A great shaking of all that we hold near and dear is about to occur throughout this world. Despite the expectation that the Christian Church will be there as a stable refuge for the beleaguered, she will crumble and fall along with the rest of the world society. Fortunately there is still a small window of opportunity for her to reform and correct her behavior and belief systems. Jeremiah prophesied that there is coming a day when the gentiles of the earth will come to their senses and realize that all of that which they were taught were lies, built upon lies, supported by more lies. He writes:

19 O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. 20 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods? 21 Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD. (Jer 16:19-1 KJV)

Still, millions will hold on to a fake assurance that they will be raptured away to be with Jesus for all eternity at any time. Yet, like most everything else in churchianity, it’s not what you perceive it to be. Yahshua is returning for individuals and He is not returning for a Nicolaitan-based commercial structure known as the church. No indeed. That structure will be swallowed whole by the Beast of Revelation and its adherents will not even know what hit them.

But those Saints…those precious, unique handful of Saints who will meet Yahshua on the Sea of Fire and Glass are those whom John described as

12 …they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. (Rev 14:12 KJV)

And what commandments are we talking about: the Laws of Yahovah, known as the Torah. Yahshua Himself proclaimed the necessity of Torah-keeping when he addressed the inquiring gentleman:

17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. 19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. 20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. 21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. 22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. (Mar 10:17-22 KJV)

Truth seeker and Believer in Messiah, isn’t it time that you courageously abandon the traditional church for the One True Faith? The stakes are ever so high–in fact eternity is at stake. Follow the Spirit’s leading and investigate these truths for yourself, right from the pages of your very own Bible.

One Response to Why should Believers study and obey the Torah of Yahovah?

  1. Rod and Hilary says:

Thank you for your comment dear friend. As it relates to where we get our information from, the primary source is the Holy Bible. Secondarily, we use the Bible (like the Bereans) to confirm the teachings of a few excellent, spirit-filled Messianic teachers. Thirdly, when necessary we will consult extra-Biblical sources and we try to cite those in our show notes/blog postings.

As Disciples of Messiah (aka: Jesus Christ), we are expected to study to show ourselves approved. This requires effort and a love of the Word of Yahovah (aka: God). Today, with so many forms of Biblical reference materials readily available to anyone with a heart to learn the truth, there is no reason why he or she can not arrive at the truth. We can not rely upon our Church leaders to provide us the true meat of the Gospel. Most Church leaders are only able to deliver the milk of the Gospel which only sustains us through infancy.

Do not fear to seek out the truth. We invite you to return to this site often to get the latest teaching and information regarding this exciting movement that is taking Christianity by storm and freeing believers from years of enslavement to false teachings and doctrines.

    Blessings.
